Dec. 20 – The Japan Foundation is opening its vast film library and bringing a triple feature of select classic films rarely screened to audiences outside Japan. Films will include “Tsuma no Kokoro (A Wife’s Heart)” directed by Mikio Naruse, starring Toshiro Mifune; “Pu-san (Mr. Pu),” directed by Kon Ichikawa, starring Yunosuke Ito; and “Aoi sanmyaku (The Green Mountains)” directed by Tadashi Imai. Each film features leading actress Yoko Sugi.
