Nisei Week 2008- Tamlyn Tomita was on hand to MC this years Nisei Week awards dinner held at the Kyoto Grand Hotel and Garden, Mayor Villaraigosa attended as well as Councilwoman Jan Perry, Japan Consul General Junichi Ihara, Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, general assignment reporter for NBC4′s Gordon Tokumatsu and the 2008 Nisei Week Queen and her court.
Those honored were Fred Hoshiyama, grand marshal of the Nisei Week Parade; Gordon Tokumatsu, marshal; the Japanese American Citizens League; Nikkei for Civil Rights and Redress; and the Southern California Nisei Athletic Union.
