Author and farmer David Mas Masumoto will be in Southern California this Tuesday and Wednesday talking about his new book “Wisdom of the Last Farmer: Harvesting Legacies from the Land.” Masumoto, a Sansei, is an organic peach farmer and a writer who has chronicled the struggles of working the farm. In his newest book, he writes on an issue many in the Japanese American community are currently facing: the illness and decline of a parent. It is a eloquent meditation on loss and renewal.
Masumoto will be speaking and signing books on Tuesday from 7 p.m. at Vroman’s Bookstore, 695 E. Colorado Blvd. Pasadena and then at the Santa Monica Public Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd. on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
