Appreciate recognition given to the religious groups in the Los Angeles area. We need to understand the reason for the emphasis on “Separation of Faith and Politics” as ethics and morality is foundational for the ruling of our government. It is when religion forgets equality and justice, love and respect, justice for the common good and the need for unity and community that foundational values are eliminating. Instead of religious domination and absoluteness that politics become detrimental. Love, respect and pluralism of religions must overcome the mandate of separation of religion and politics. We must all work for the common good of humanity and learn to follow the “Golden Rule” of “love one another” as we want to be loved.”
