SAN JOSE — The Silicon Valley APA Democratic Club will host a reception in honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month on Thursday, May 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Motif Lounge, 389 S. 1st St., San Jose.
Free finger foods and well drinks for the first 200 guests. Admission is free. Donations to Japan earthquake relief are appreciated.
The event is sponsored by PG&E.
Silicon Valley Asian Pacific American Democratic Club was founded in 1996 to foster member participation at all levels of the Democratic Party. Its goals are to unify and empower the APA communities; ensure fair representation of APA interests; and educate and promote political participation.
Officers are Alex Kobayashi, president; Noelani Sallings, executive vice president; Mia White, vice president of programs; and Buu Thai, treasurer.
Board members include Mountain View City Councilmember Margaret Abe-Koga; Foothill-DeAnza Community College District Trustee Pearl Cheng; San Jose/Evergreen Community College District Trustee Balbir Dhillon; San Jose City Councilmember Ash Kalra; Campbell City Councilmember Evan Low; Cupertino Mayor Gilbert Wong; and San Jose Vice Mayor Madison Nguyen.
