Sansei Skeet Assn. Gives to Quake Relief

The Sansei Skeet Shooting Association recently donated $1,400 for earthquake/tsunami relief efforts in Japan.

The donation was made to the Rafu Shimpo during a telethon broadcast on KCET on May 24, and was transferred to the U.S.-Japan Council Earthquake Relief Fund.

In 1969, the first Nisei Week Skeet Championship was held in El Monte. The Sansei Skeet Shooting Association was formed a few years later has continued the tournament. The 42nd annual event, now known as the Sansei Skeet Championships, will take place on Sunday, Aug. 7, at Triple B Clays, 831 Rosemead Blvd., El Monte.

The association also puts on a “Toys for Tots” tournament in December for various children’s groups.
