GARDENA — On Sunday, July 17, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Ken Nakaoka Community Center, 1700 W. 162nd St. in Gardena, the Gardena Pioneer Project will sponsor an educational seminar featuring a speaker from the California Telephone Access Program.
The CTAP is a state program that provides telephone and adaptive equipment to individuals having difficulty using the telephone because of problems with hearing, vision, mobility, speech and cognition.
Theresa Tong, CTAP outreach specialist, will be the featured speaker. She will discuss the various features of the telephone and adaptive equipment available and will explain what is required to qualify for such equipment and how to apply. She will also be available to answer individual questions.
