SAN FRANCISCO — The kickoff of the Nikkei Family Legacy Project will take place Saturday, Aug. 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California, 1840 Sutter St. in San Francisco Japantown.
Learn about and register for the Nikkei Family Legacy Project, which offers benefits such as access to the National Archives and discovering your koseki (Japanese family registry).
Participants will end the project with the creation of a hardbound family history book.
Learn from experts about Japanese American genealogy, including Donna Kotake, Corey Oiesen, Marisa Louie (National Archives and Records Administration), Gene Mizukami (International Management Solutions), and Grant Din (Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation).
