Totally Spoked

Riders took to the streets of Little Tokyo on two (or three) wheels Oct. 9 for the third CicLAvia festival. Some 10 miles of streets in downtown L.A. were closed to traffic in an effort to get Angelenos to ditch their cars for a day. The idea was to open the streets to non-motorized vehicles, modeled on a weekly event started in Bogota, Colombia. Streets from East Los Angeles to East Hollywood, usually crowded with cars, were turned into one big bike lane. (Photos by J.K. Yamamoto/Rafu Shimpo)
