‘Play for Japan’ to Benefit Tsunami Victims


LONG BEACH — “Play for Japan 2011,” a benefit for disaster relief in Japan’s Tohoku region, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Blair Field Baseball Stadium, 4700 Deukmejian Dr., Long Beach.

The day’s events start at 11 a.m. A bazaar before the game will feature a variety of booths, festival goods, and a raffle.

An amateur all-star game between Japan and Korea starts at 1 p.m. Taiko and karate performances will add to the excitement.

The event is supported by the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles along with Forever 21, Torimatsu, Louisville Slugger, Bridge USA, Delta Airlines, AVC, Shin Sen Gumi, Asahi Beer, Seeknet USA, Furaibo, NAX,  and Tanaka & Associates.
