Japanese Food Festival This Weekend

The Japanese Restaurant Association of America will present the 12th annual Japanese Food Festival on Sunday, Nov. 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens, 120 S. Los Angeles St. in Little Tokyo.

The event will feature sushi, ramen, soba, beef bowl, sake, shochu, wine, and beer, plus a jazz, koto and taiko concert.

A kagami-wari (sake barrel ceremony) will be held at 11:30 a.m., followed by a tuna filleting demonstration at 12 p.m., a mega-sushi roll contest at 12:30 p.m., a sushi-eating contest at 1:30 p.m., and a sushi chef contest at 2:30 p.m.
