SAN JOSE — Classical pianist Jon Nakamatsu will sign his CDs on Tuesday, Dec. 6, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Nikkei Traditions, 219 Jackson St. (between 5th and 6th) in San Jose Japantown.
The 1997 gold medalist of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Nakamatsu is a frequent concerto soloist, chamber musician, recording artist and solo recitalist throughout the U.S., Europe and Japan.
His latest CDs include “Bernstein, Gershwin, Novacek, D’Rivera: American Music for Clarinet and Piano” (2010); “Brahms: Sonatas, Op. 120, Nos. 1& 2” (2008); “Gershwin: Piano Concerto in F / Rhapsody in Blue / Cuban Overture” (2007); and “Liszt: The Dante Sonata & Other Works” (2006), all on the harmonia mundi label.

Nikkei Traditions, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, specializes in contemporary Japanese American handcrafted arts, gifts and designs.
