Flintridge Prep frosh Renae Tamura scored a game-high 16 points Dec. 18, as the Rebels ran away with a 51-33 dismantling of crosstown rival Flintridge Sacred Heart.
The Rebels outscored their hosts 21-2 in the second period, giving head coach Kevin Kiyomura his second win against only one loss this season.
Prep led by as many as 28 in the game and forced the Tologs into seven turnovers and zero field goals.
The easy win came two days after the Rebels lost a close 59-51 decision to South Pasadena on Dec. 17. In that game, the Tigers’ junior captain Elise Takahama connected for 19 points, including three 3-pointers, for her team’s seventh win.
Kristen Kafkaloff had seven for South Pas, while Sophia Hathaway added four. Taryn Kato had an assist in the win.
In their game on Dec. 21, Takahama and Lexie Scholtz each had 12 points, but South Pas took a 58-46 loss at Canyon. Hathaway scored eight for 7-3 South Pas, who will take the holidays off before resuming play at Marlborough on Jan. 4.
On Dec. 18, Westridge suffered their third loss of the season, a 62- 56 setback at the hands of Pasadena Poly.
Junior Kayoko Fong scored three points with two assists in the loss for Westridge, who are back in action Jan. 3 against Maranatha.
