Composer and pianist Scott Nagatani (www.reverbnation.com/ScottNagatani) will join the Little Tokyo Branch Library once again for Make Music LA on Saturday, June 21, from 3 to 4:45 p.m.

stories and songThis year, he will feature vocalist Keiko Kawashima for American standards, traditional Japanese folk songs, and storytelling through songs for the young at heart. Kawashima has worked on numerous theater productions and music projects in the U.S. and Japan. She is a founding member of the Grateful Crane Ensemble (www.GratefulCrane.com).

Nagatani will also accompany Anime Wong in performing songs from her post-punk music project “Surely Lorraine.” Produced by Boz Boorer, “Surely Lorraine’s” debut single, “Calling Out,” is out now from the EP “Tunes of Portugal” (www.SurelyLorraine.com).

Before the musical performance, come join the magic, comedy and fun of magician Wayne Kawamoto from 1 to 2 p.m. Discover why Wayne, a full time professional magician, is always in demand at events across the Southland and a performer at Hollywood’s Magic Castle. Cards, sleight of hand, mind reading and more. This is not your little brother or sister’s magic show.
