OXNARD — Oxnard Buddhist Temple, 250 S. “H” St. (between 2nd and 3rd streets) in Oxnard, will hold its Obon Festival, A Gathering of Joy, on Saturday, July 11, from 1 to 9 p.m.

Bon Odori will take place at 6 and 8 p.m. The last dance practice will be held on Thursday, July 9, at 7:30 p.m.

Festival activities include: Oxnard Bonsai Club at 1 p.m.; Encino Judo at 2 p.m.; Okinawa Dance at 3 p.m.; Azuma Dance and Dharma service at 4 p.m.; cosplay competition at 5 p.m.; Togen Daiko at 7 p.m.; benefit drawing at 8:45 p.m.

This is the second year of the cosplay competition. Come dressed as your favorite character.

The festival will also feature food and drinks, children’s games, origami, farmer’s market, produce/flower sales, silent auction, and a benefit drawing. Admission is free.
