By Genie Nakano
this year
the flowers bloom
in a heated winter
we asked for rain to fall
while farmers toiled dry land
soft rain
on New Year’s day
glistening rainbows
arching across the sky
coming our way soon
as we blink
into a New Year
unbelievable
it went so fast
let’s make our moments last
