GARDENA — The Alzheimer’s Association of Los Angeles will present a series of education workshops at the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute, 1964 W. 162nd St. in Gardena, regarding Alzheimer’s disease. The workshops will be held on the following dates:

• Alzheimer’s Disease Research Update on Friday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Upstairs Classroom 208.

Get an update on research findings around the symptoms, detection and causes of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The UCLA Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center will talk about the latest treatments available and what research is currently being conducted to find a cure for this disease.

• Savvy Caregiver Express on Fridays, April 12, 19 and 26, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Upstairs Classroom 208.

A three-week program based on the Savvy Caregiver. This program develops the basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to care for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia.
