April 24-25 — Authors Cynthia Kadohata, Naomi Hirahara, Todd Shimoda, Setsu Broderick and Willie Ito and Shig Yabu will be signing at the Heritage Source booth this weekend at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.
The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books was created in 1996 to promote literacy, celebrate the written word, and bring together those who create books with the people who love to read them. Between 130,000 and 140,000 people attend the event annually. The Heritage Source will be at Booth #201 next to Kaufman Hall on the UCLA campus, Kinokuniya Bookstore will also be at the festival at Booth #327.
Kadohata will sign her newest book “A Million Shades of Gray” on Saturday from 1 to 3:30; Ito and Yabu, who recently published “A Boy of Heart Mountain,” and Sunny Seki “Tale of the Lucky Cat” will be at the booth on both days. Hirahara (“Blood Hina”)) and Tanegashima (“Daughter of a Gun”) will be joined by Todd Shimoda (“Oh! A Mystery of Mono no Aware”) on Saturday.
Jack Fujimoto (“Sawtelle: West Los Angeles’ Japantown”) will be at the booth on Sunday, followed by Setsu Broderick (“Japanese Traditions”) from 10 to 11:15 a.m. and 3:30 to 5 p.m. Lane Hirabayshi will sign “Japanese American Resettlement Through the Lens” on Sunday from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
