Manzanar School Reunion to Convene in Las Vegas Oct. 14-16

The Manzanar School reunion program and activities are set to take place Tuesday, Oct. 14 through Thursday, Oct. 16 at the California Hotel in Las Vegas.

The keynote speaker for the main banquet is Bruce Kaji, former Manzanar internee, and well-known member of the Japanese American community. Kaji has been a committee member and long time attendee of all the reunions.

Kats Marumoto is compiling stories and recollections of camp experiences, which will be given out at the reunion.

There will be a mixer on Tuesday evening Oct. 14. A slot tournament will be held on Wednesday morning Oct. 15, at the Main Street Casino, and the banquet will be held that evening in the Ohana room, at the Cal.

Park Rangers from the Manzanar National Historic Site will also be on hand to provide the latest information on park activities.

Anyone planning to attend is en­couraged to send in reservations as soon as possible. There are seats still available. All Buses will depart at 8 a.m. from the following locations: St. Francis Xavier Church (Maryknoll), 222 S.
