EWP to Honor Inaba and Houston at 42nd Anniversary Gala

Visisonary Award Dinner to be held on April 28 in Universal City.

East West Players (EWP), the nation’s premier Asian American theatre organization, celebrates its 42nd anniversary with its glamorous Visionary Awards Dinner & Silent Auction, which salutes those who have raised the visibility of the Asian Pacific American community through their artistic excellence and support of the Asian Pacific performing arts.

The award-winning event will take place at the Hilton Universal City on Monday, April 28. Proceeds from the event will benefit East West Players’ educational and artistic programs.

The event will be emceed by The Three Filipino Tenors (Antoine Reynaldo Diel, Randy Guiaya and Lito Villareal) and music will be lead by Nathan Wang.

This years Honorees are Carrie Ann Inaba, well-known as a judge on “Dancing with the Stars” and as choreographer on “Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann” and Velina Hasu Houston, an internationally acclaimed playwright, as well as a published poet, essayist, and screen writer. She has published two anthologies of Asian American drama and serves as a Commissioner for the U.S. Department of State’s Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission of the U.S.-Japan Conference of Cultural and Educational Interchange.
