When its warm out–and that has certainly been the case lately–nothing hits the spot like a nice cool treat. But a new shop in the Japanese Village Plaza has a product that goes beyond simply frosty refreshment.

Operations and training manager Cindy Hwang offers a taste of Fiore yogurt.

Fiore, which opened for business on Tuesday, has brought a super premium Italian frozen yogurt to Little Tokyo. The confection is smooth and sophisticated, with all natural flavors and the finest quality ingredients.

“We’re really aiming for people who are conscious about their health and the quality of what they eat,” said Fiore manager Seung Lee. The shop offers two flavors: a creamy plain yogurt with a distinct tanginess and Japanese macha, or green tea. Toppings range from fresh fruits–nothing here comes out of a can–to granola and cereals to chocolate chips.

Prices are from $2.95 to $6.95 for yogurt. Shave ice, smoothies and floral teas are also available.

The store, a subsidiary of the Todai buffet chain, is planning stores for Westwood and Newport Beach. The Little Tokyo location is open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, call Fiore at (213) 626-0806.
