Oct. 3—The Japanese American Korean War Veterans will host a day at the Santa Anita Racetrack on Saturday, Oct. 3 in conjunction with a FREE tour of the stables where Japanese Americans were held before being sent to permanent relocation camps. Rafu Shimpo’s George Yoshinaga will co-chair the tour along with Bacon Sakatani and Min Tonai of the JAKWV. Like many camp reunions, this tour will probably be the last.
For those attending the tour, races and lunch Clubhouse Area 1 gate # 5. Santa Anita Stable Tours. Free. For those who only want the tour, park at gate #5 ( parking charge). Tour starts at 10:30 a.m.
Tour/Races/Lunch adults $29 includes valet parking, program, tax, tip, buffet lunch. Teens 13-17 $22, kids 4-12 $14, 3/under free.
