All Nippon Airways (ANA) Group issued the following statement on March 13:

ANA Group offers its deepest condolences to all those affected by the earthquake which occurred on March 11, especially those who have lost loved ones, and announces a series of initiatives to help with rescue and recovery efforts.

 Given the widespread damage resulting from the earthquake and subsequent tsunami, ANA Group is implementing the following logistical support:

Assistance with Transport of Relief Supplies. ANA Group will provide transport of relief supplies, at no charge, as required by the Japanese government and/or local authorities. This support will be made available (*1) across all domestic and international routes operated by the ANA Group, between March 14 and April 15. (*2)

Assistance with Transport of Relief Workers/Medical Support Personnel. ANA Group will provide seats on its flights for relief workers, as required by the Japanese government and/or local authorities. This free transport will be made available (*3) across all domestic and international routes operated by the ANA Group, between March 14 and April 15.

Mileage Donation. ANA Group will introduce a mileage donation for all ANA Mileage Club members effective from March 17 to April 15. Members can donate miles, in 1,000-mile increments, as relief funds for the victims of the Tohoku Pacific Earthquake, by filling in the application available at the ANA SKY WEB site (www.ana.co.jp).

(Unit of mileage donation was at first “in 10,000-mile increments”, but changed to “in 1,000-mile increments” to allow more members to participate in the donation.
)

Donation at ANA SKY WEB English site is available from 3 p.m. on Friday, March 18.

ANA Group will donate one yen for every mile donated by its Mileage Club members.
ANA Group has also begun asking for donation contributions from its employees.
