An interfaith memorial service for the victims of last week’s earthquake in Japan will be held on Thursday, March 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the JACCC Plaza, located on San Pedro Street between Second and Third streets in Little Tokyo. The service is sponsored by the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center and the Nikkei Interfaith Council. There will be representatives from Japan disaster relief funds, for individuals who wish to make a contribution.
“The devastation so far away can leave people with a sense of helplessness,” said Chris Aihara, executive director of the JACCC. “Thursday’s memorial will provide an opportunity for the community to come together to reflect on the suffering of countless individuals and our interconnectedness.”
