JABA Raises Funds for Earthquake Victims

The Japanese American Bar Association (www.jabaonline.org) is raising funds for disaster relief in Japan and co-sponsored a fundraiser at Izakaya Fu-ga in Little Tokyo on Wednesday.

“JABA extends its condolences and concern for the people of Japan and the Pacific Rim who are suffering from the impact of the recent earthquake and tsunami,” the organization said in a statement. “JABA members, their families, friends, and colleagues have been affected by these devastating natural disasters.

“The American Red Cross (www.redcross.org) and the Japan Society (www.japansociety.org) accept donations specifically for victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

“JABA also encourages donations online through the City of Riverside (www.riversideca.gov/sendairelief/). Riverside is the sister city of Sendai and all donations will go directly to that city, which was devastated by the tsunami.”

Meanwhile, Izakaya Fu-ga (www.izakayafu-ga.com/) announced that for every specialty cocktail sold, it will donate $2 to the Red Cross relief effort.
