Japan Govt. Providing Info on JET Participants

Japanese Consul General Junichi Ihara on Friday encouraged relatives of Japan Exchange Teaching (JET) Program participants to contact the Japan Local Government Center in New York City to see if their family members are safe following the magnitude-8.9 earthquake.

Program officials request family members send participant’s names, location, the family member’s name, relationship with the participant and phone number to [email protected].

The program released a list of participants who were confirmed safe at http://www.jlgc.org/default.aspx?languageTypeID=1.

The JET Program organizes international study programs for officials, researchers, academics and students throughout Japan, according to the website.
