Japantown Community Interfaith Service in S.F.


SAN FRANCISCO — A Japantown community interfaith service will be held on Monday, April 11, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Peace Plaza, Post and Buchanan streets, San Francisco.

The community will come together for the one-month anniversary of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11. Those in attendance will share hopes and prayers to support the survivors and remember the victims of the disaster.

San Francisco Mayor ed Lee, Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi and Consul General Hiroshi Inomata are expected to attend.

Those who are not able to attend can send hopes and prayers through the Facebook page at http://on.fb.me/dPA4EM. Also include where you are sending the message from (e.g., Continue to be strong! From New York). These messages will be posted at the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California.
