Hiroko Tina Tajima, a professor at Shirayuri College in Tokyo and a Japanese-English-Chinese interpreter for the U.N. and the Japanese government, will discuss her relief efforts in northeastern Japan on Sunday, May 1, at 6:30 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 S. Central Ave., Little Tokyo.
Tajima is visiting Los Angeles to coordinate her work with local Japanese/Japanese American groups. She spoke on Friday at a ceremony held by the Japanese American National Museum to commemorate the 49th day since the earthquake and tsunami.
