STUDIO CITY — The Art Spotter is organizing an art auction fundraiser for Japan on Saturday, April 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Left Coast Galleries, 12324 Ventura Blvd., Studio City.
All of the proceeds will benefit Mercy Corps and Peace Winds in Japan. The goal is to raise at least $30,000.
Mercy Corps is working with long-time partner Peace Winds, which has rushed teams to tsunami-affected areas with shelter materials, water, food and other survival materials. The number one priority for Mercy Corps and Peace Winds is to provide life-saving basics to help people in desperate need.
In the longer term, Mercy Corps aims to help earthquake-affected families rebuild their lives. Mercy Corps is taking steps to make its signature Comfort for Kids program available in Japan. Through Comfort for Kids, it has provided post-trauma assistance to children and their caregivers around the world. Donations to Mercy Corps help meet the needs of families affected by the devastation.
