SAN JOSE — “Sake San Jose,” a community event for Yu-Ai Kai Senior Services, will be held in San Jose Japantown on Thursday, May 26.

Those who attend the sixth Annual “Sake San Jose” will sample sake along Jackson Street between 3rd and 7th streets, rediscovering Japantown’s businesses and shops while enjoying an evening of sake tasting with friends, old and new.

Opening ceremony begins at 5 p.m. Sake tasting will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

This year, “Sake San Jose” will be premiering a new event in Yu-Ai Kai’s brand new James Akiyama Wellness Center, the Akiyama Premium Sake Tasting. A special collection of premium sakes will be assembled for tasting in the center’s Sakura Room from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

A variety of small plates will be offered to accompany the sakes. Sake experts will be available to offer information about the different sakes being tasted.

Tickets are $40 in advance, $50 on day of event. Premium tickets are $80.
