CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment) Legacy presents a screening of “Jiro Dreams of Sushi” in partnership with Giant Robot on Thursday, May 19, at the Japanese American National Museum’s Tateuchi Democracy Forum, 111 N. Central Ave. (at First Street) in Little Tokyo.

Sushi master Jiro Ono is the only Japanese chef to ever be awarded three stars from the prestigious Michelin guide, working tirelessly at his world-renowned restaurant, Sukiyabashi Jiro, to pursue his lifelong quest creating the perfect piece of sushi. An engrossing documentary, “Jiro Dreams of Sushi” garnered huge critical acclaim. This is for anyone obsessed with food, Japanese culture, and film.

The film was directed by David Gelb, edited by Brandon Driscoll-Luttringer, and produced by Kevin Iwashina, Matt Weaver, Tom Pellegrini and Gelb.

The mixer starts at 6 p.m., followed by the screening at 7:30 p.m. and an interview with the filmmakers by Giant Robot Publisher/Editor Eric Nakamura at 9 p.m.

The event is free for CAPE members, $20 for non-members. RSVP online at http://bit.ly/iSaXGD. For more information, visit www.capeusa.org.
