BERKELEY — The 62nd annual Satsuki Bazaar and Arts Festival will be held Saturday, May 21, from 3 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, May 22, from 12 to 7 p.m. at Berkeley Buddhist Temple, 2121 Channing Way at Shattuck Avenue.
The popular event features free performances on Sunday, food, arts and crafts, and a silent auction.
Kenny Endo, who is based in Hawaii, returns to the festival, blending Japanese taiko with rhythms from around the world into original melodies and improvisation. He will perform at 3:15 p.m.
Preceding Endo at 2 p.m. will be June Kuramoto, an internationally acclaimed kotoist and an artistic driving force of the renowned Los Angeles-based band Hiroshima; and Kimo Cornwell, part of Hiroshima’s heart and soul as keyboardist, composer and producer.
The entertainment begins at 12:30 p.m. with the Miyagi-Ryu Okinawan Dance Group with Dr. Wesley Ueunten.
Serving as emcee will be John Sasaki, a reporter for KTVU Channel 2.
