APIsCAN to Present Legislator, Leadership Awards

APIsCAN (Asian and Pacific Islanders California Action Network) will a fundraising reception on Friday, July 22, at East West Players, 120 Judge John Aiso St. in Little Tokyo.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., program at 6 p.m., and reception at 7 p.m.

The following awards will be presented:

Federal Legislator of the Year — Rep. Judy Chu (D-Monterey Park)

State Legislator of the Year — Assemblymember Mike Eng (D-Monterey Park)

Lifetime Leadership Award — Assemblymember Warren Furutani (D-South Los Angeles County)

Corporate Vision and Leadership Award — Comcast Cable

Community Action Awards — Orange County Asian Pacific Islander Community Alliance (OCAPICA) and Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR)

APIsCAN (www.apiscan.org) was formed in 1993 to act as a catalyst for public policy and community development that promotes health, social and economic equity for the diverse Asian and Pacific Islander communities.

Sponsorship levels: Patron, $5,000; Host, $2,500; Benefactor, $1,000; Community, $500; VIP Guest, $250. General seating is $50.
