Farewell Dinner for Consul General


The Japan America Society of Southern California and supporting community organizations will sponsor a farewell tribute to Consul General Junichi Ihara on Thursday, Sept. 1, at the Quiet Cannon, 901 Via San Clemente, Montebello. Reception is at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m.

Ihara, who arrived in Los Angeles in April 2008, has been appointed director of the North American Affairs Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo and will soon be returning to Japan with his wife, Makiko.

At the tribute dinner, they will be thanked for all they have done for the community and best wishes will be extended on the consul general’s new assignment.
