“Hawaii Five-0” will have its season premiere Monday, Sept. 19, at 10 p.m. on CBS.
A remake of the police drama that ran on CBS from 1968 to 1980, the new “Hawaii Five-0” stars Alex O’Loughlin as Steve McGarrett, Scott Caan as Danny Williams, Daniel Dae Kim as Chin Ho Kelly, and Grace Park as Kono Kalakaua.
Season 2 will also feature Masi Oka (“Heroes”) as brilliant but eccentric medical examiner Max Bergman. Oka, who appeared in four episodes in Season 1, has been promoted from recurring role to series regular. His other recent credits include the big-screen romantic comedy “Friends with Benefits,” which stars Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis.
Season 1 ended with a cliffhanger — McGarrett was framed by Wo Fat (Mark Dacascos) for the murder of the governor (Jean Smart) and Kono was arrested for her involvement in the theft of millions of dollars from a police evidence locker.
Kim will be reunited with one of his “Lost” co-stars, Terry O’Quinn, who will be a guest star in Season 2 as McGarrett’s Navy SEAL training officer. Kim played Jin Kwon and O’Quinn played John Locke in the hit ABC sci-fi series, which ran from 2004 to 2010 and was shot in Hawaii.
It has also been reported that Oka will be reunited with another “Heroes” cast member, Greg Grunberg (who played mind-reading cop Matt Parkman), in a future episode.
