Save the Children USA president Samuel Connor, left, shows a Japanese-style school backpack as an example of the kinds of needed supplies his organization is sending to victims of the March earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington, middle, and Koshi Inaba and Tak Matsumoto of the popular Japanese pop group B’z, listen in during a pre-show press conference Wednesday at the Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles. Fans of the bands donated more than $350,000 toward relief efforts. The one-night-only concert included a silent auction of autographed memorabilia and proceeds from ticket sales went to benefit the affected residents of the Tohoku region.
