Matt “Megatoad” Stonie, winner of the gyoza-eating contest at last year’s Nisei Week Japanese Festival, has broken yet another record.

Just in time for Easter, Stonie took the 100 Peep Challenge on April 20 and ingested 100 of the marshmallow birds — about 2,800 calories — in 2:10.4.

The 120-pound Hapa from San Jose is the second-ranked eater in Major League Eating behind fellow San Josean Joey Chestnut.

Among other feats, Stonie downed four Chipotle burritos and a Diet Coke in three minutes in February.

In addition to gyoza, Stonie’s eating records include birthday cake, Slugburgers, Kookamonger Burgers, and deep-fried asparagus.

The 21-year-old graduated from Evergreen Valley High School and attends Mission College in Santa Clara, majoring in nutrition.
