PACOIMA — Candle Night, a celebration of life, will be held on Wednesday, March 11, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center, 12953 Branford St. in Pacoima.
Attendees are asked to light a candle for Tohoku on the fourth anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami that struck northeastern Japan.
Mindfulness service will be offered by Rev. Patti Usuki of San Fernando Valley Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.
Presented by Egao, a California nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles. It was created to bring smiles back to people after natural disasters. Egao is a Japanese word for “smiles.”
