PASADENA — Storrier Stearns Japanese Garden, 270 Arlington Drive, Pasadena, is hosting a series of Japanese cooking classes with instructor and author Sonoko Sakai.
In a series of four traditional Japanese cooking classes with a part-demo, part hands-on format, learn how to make healthy, wholesome and delicious traditional Japanese meals using the best farmers’ market ingredients.
Dates: Four Thursdays, Oct. 15, 22, 29 and Nov. 5, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The first class will feature a demonstration on how to make vegetarian homestyle chirashi sushi with pickled ginger and miso soup. Subsequent classes cover soba noodles, donabe claypot cooking and cooking with tofu.
Fee: $40 per session, which includes ingredients. Maximum of ten people, minimum of six. Make your reservation by Tuesday before each class.
