The funeral ceremony for UCLA Professor Emeritus Don Nakanishi is scheduled for Saturday, April 2, at 3 p.m. at Nishi Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 815 E. First St. in Little Tokyo.
Nakanishi, a noted scholar and writer who was a professor at UCLA for 35 years and director of the UCLA Asian American Studies Center for 20 years, passed away on March 21 at the age of 66 in Los Angeles. He is survived by his wife, Marsha, and son, Thomas.
