March 11 — A candlelight vigil will be held on Sunday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m. on the one-year anniversary of the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The vigil will take place in Little Tokyo at the intersection of First St. and Central Ave. in the JANM Plaza. This event will be reflective, as we remember the lives of individuals and families that were lost in this tragedy. It will also be hopeful, as we light candles that break the darkness of hopelessness and despair for those who survived and continue to struggle as they attempt to move forward in their lives.Among those supporting this candlelight vigil are the Nikkei Interfaith Group of Little Tokyo, the Nisei Week Foundation, and the Japanese American National Museum.
