April 10-25 — The Japan Film Festival Los Angeles will showcase a wide range of films from Japan at theatres in Hollywood, Irvine and Torrance. Japan Film Festival–Los Angeles, JFFLA, is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering a better appreciation of contemporary Japanese culture to the Los Angeles community. Cinema is the bridge that connects us all! Among the films to be shown include: “The Ramen Girl” starring Brittany Murphy and Toshiyuki Nishida about a young American who learns the art of ramen; and the Japanese adaptation of “Sideways,” starring Fumio Kohinata, Kyoka Suzuki and Katsuhisa Namase.Other films to be screened include: “Yatterman,” “Paco and the Magical Book,” “Sakura, Sakura,” “Lost & Found,” and “Happy Ending,” the Audience Award Winner at the 2009 Austin Film Festival.
