May 21 — Faith United Methodist Church invites the public to enjoy its annual Matsuri Festival on Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The church is located at 2115 W. 182nd St. in Torrance.
There will be a variety of signature hand-crafted ethnic foods, including beef and chicken teriyaki, tri-tip, chirashi and inari sushi, udon noodle, ramen salad, curry, yakisoba, malasadas, lumpia, lau-lau, tamales, chili rice, snow cones, home-made baked goods and more.
For the first time, a silent auction has been added. Fresh produce, plants and handicrafts will also be available for purchase.
Entertainment, including hula, odori, taiko drums, gospel and R&B, will be performed throughout the day. A contemporary Christian concert will take place from 4 p.m.
Faith UMC will also be accepting donations for Japan earthquake relief on behalf of the United Methodist Committee on Relief. One hundred percent of proceeds will go towards relief efforts in Japan.
Parking and free shuttle service will be available at Hamilton Adult School’s parking lot, two blocks away. All are welcome.
