Our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away on December 22, 2019 at Kei-Ai Nursing Home at the age of 97. Jitsuko was born on May 2, 1922 in Pasadena, California to her parents Otojiro & Tomo Kondo. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Bill in 1999 and her husband, Yoshito in 2013.
Jitsuko was living in Western Hiroshima when the world’s first atomic bomb exploded. She survived with mild radiation sickness. After the war, she worked as a translator for the United States Counter Intelligence Corps in nearby Kure.
Jitsuko was always very active in the community, being an active member of the Sun Valley Japanese Community Center, Sun Valley Buddhist Sunday School & Women’s Club.
