A memorial service for Mrs. Shizue “Sue” Hirata, a 95-year-old Nisei resident of Monterey Park and former internee of Topaz Relocation Camp during WWII, who passed away peacefully on May 9, 2015, will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, 11 a.m. at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden,” 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90012, officiated by Pastors Cory Ishida and George Egami of Evergreen Baptist Church San Gabriel Valley.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Kazuo Hirata. She is survived by her children, Larry (Susan) Hirata, Kathy (Joey) Hirata-Iida, and George Hirata; grandchildren, Sherry (Randall) Morimoto and Lester (Alison) Hirata. Also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, her devoted caregiver Ana Chamorro, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
