May 31, 1922 – October 16, 2019

Born in Seattle Washington to Keiji and Mary Aki Ishigami, moved to Los Angeles as an infant, where she lived until interned in Heart Mountain during WW2.

She married Arthur Makoto Emi in 1942 and had the first of 5 children while in camp. Art passed away in 1996. Winters were hard in Wyoming and she found it impossible to throw out any type of blanket for the rest of her life.

She is survived by her 4 siblings: Ruri Miura, Miyo Kunitake, Kei Ishigami and Yoshi Judy Dionzon. She was the gracious mother to 5 children and their spouses, 12 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 10.

Beside her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her pleasures in life were sitting at a slot machine, serving refreshments when someone would stop by and going to Costco. She had quite a bit of yard work to do which kept her busy. Persimmon season was really busy as she dried hundreds of the fruit on clotheslines set aside for just that purpose.

As the oldest of five children of working parents, she never stopped trying to give direction to young of old.
