Mrs. Nishiyama, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in
Monterey Park, Calif. on Sept. 8. She was born in Needles, Calif. and
grew up in Kumamoto, Japan. She is survived by her two sisters,
Toshie Iwasaki and Taeko Matsumoto; her five children, Masako (Ted)
Nishimoto, Sumako Paik, Ryoichi Nishiyama, Yukiko (James) Kovacs and
Yoshie Kaneko; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The family is holding a private service and plans to bury her at
Evergreen
Cemetery in Boyle Heights.
