Toshio Kawasaki, age 87, passed away at his home on Dec. 15, 2013. Tosh was born in Sumner, Wash., and later moved to Los Angeles. He relocated with his family to the Amache internment camp in Colorado during WWII, but he later became a career Army officer and a veteran of Vietnam.
He is survived by his son, Glenn Kawasaki of Seattle, Wash.; his daughter, Nancy Kawasaki of Elgin, Ill.; his sisters, Dorothy Nakamura, Kimiko Amano and Masako Ikeda; his son-in-law, Craig Carter, as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sekiko (Miyamoto), his daughter, Lillian (wife of Craig), and his sister, Mary Ikuma. A private gravesite service was held on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif. The family would like to thank all of his bowling friends and his extended family for their support over the years.
